Character costume profiles
Kamal -
Kamal wears cheaper clothing as he is an immigrant from Sudan. all his clothes are dirty and do not get washed very much due to him always being on the move. He has an old rucksack and most of his clothes do not fit him properly as they are either hand me downs or from when he was younger.
Anna -
Anna wears a worn down dress which her mother made for her before she left for England. She also wears a ring that has been passed down her family for many generations.
Tom -
Tom wears high quality clean clothes. This shows the distinct difference between Tom and Kamal and how they come from different backgrounds.
Jane -
Jane wears summery clothing which is also very clean. Whilst she wears bright clothing suggesting she is a nice individual she is actually quite rude and not very nice.
Location recce
Lighting and camera movement
The film will use a lot of natural lighting. This is due to the low budget and the theme of the film. There will be a lot of close ups and darker shots however which will show the emotion of the characters and environments, For example in the camp there will be lots of close ups of the refugees and immigrants. There will also be a lot of long shots to show how the character has a dream and a goal but also showing how far away it is. These long shots will also show how small the main character is in the world and how lonely he feels. At the start of the film it will be a lot darker with the lighting however as the film progresses it will get brighter which correlates to how the character escapes and rejoins his family.

This sound effect will play at the start of the movie when Kamal is stowed away on the shipping boat
This sound effect will play when Kamal is busking for money in France.
