Have you met the producers expectations?
The film pitch met the expectation of the producers as a UK based film. The film features British actors, and had scenes which took place in, Dover and London, in the UK. The film is based on a theme which is very relevant in the UK at the moment which is to do with immigration. one of the issues which they brought up is that the film is not based on a true story. This might deter some audiences as having based on a true story on a poster or trailer can bring in a lot more fans than if it was a made up story. another issue was that they thought the budget was too low for some of the bigger actors, which might deter them from watching the film. To make sure that the big actors are available the budget will be raised to guarantee that the big stars are in the film.
What are the producers likes/dislikes?
The producers said they liked the idea of having the higher payed well known stars being the secondary actors and having the main stars being unknown actors as it fits in with the main characters being immigrants in the film. One thing that the producers didn't like was how low the budget was as they thought it would mean the big stars wouldn't want to star in the film, This was the main selling point one of the producers mentioned. The budget will have to be raised a substantial amount to get the big actors in. One of the producers said that they were unsure wether the film would be tackling illegal or legal immigration. The film will be clearly showing that it is dealing with illegal immigration instead of legal immigration. This also means the film will not touch on brexit or any legal immigration issues. this is something that I will need to make clear in the movie as it is quite a big debate and very relevant at the moment. Posters and trailers will not include anything that suggests the film is based on a true story as this would give the film negative press for lying to the audience about quite a touchy topic.
is the content of your presentation correct? (Based on form and style)
Everything was correct in the presentation apart from the budget being too low. This will be raised as it is crucial to the film and is a very important aspect to it. Everything else which needed to be shown was there, this included the test footage, the production docs, and more. The presentation was performed well as everything was clear to look at and see, the producers both said that the presentation was good. The film follows the form of uk films and the drama genre of the film as it features tropes and follows classic parts of drama films.
